Switching to Solid Shampoo: Why It's Worth the Adjustment Period

Let's be honest: switching from liquid shampoo to a solid bar isn't always love at first wash. Your hair might feel different for the first 2-3 washes — sometimes a bit waxy or not as "squeaky clean" as you're used to. That's completely normal: your scalp and hair are adjusting to a gentler, lower-foam formula without harsh sulfates.

Stick with it for 2 to 3 weeks. Most people find that once their hair adjusts, it becomes softer, shinier, and easier to manage — without the buildup that some liquid shampoos leave behind over time.

Why make the switch:

  • No plastic bottle, zero waste

  • Highly concentrated — lasts much longer than liquid shampoo

  • Travel-friendly, no liquid restrictions

  • Gentle, simple ingredients without silicones or sulfates

Tip: the apple cider vinegar treatment Once a week, before your shampoo, apply diluted apple cider vinegar (1 part vinegar to 3 parts water) to your scalp and let it sit for up to 30 minutes before rinsing and shampooing. This helps remove product buildup, balances your scalp's natural pH, and can leave hair looking shinier and feeling smoother.

Important: always dilute the vinegar with water before applying — using it undiluted can irritate the scalp.
